Hopefully this site will develop into a full GSR infomational page for those Integra and Autocross enthusiasts. I will try to share the experiences I have, whether good or bad. Please let me know what you think and how this site can be improved. -- 12/15/01

This is at Grand Sport Speedway. It was a very wet day which made for a wonderful day to learn the fundamentals of car control. -- 12/08/01

----------Here are pictures of my Integra----------

2/6/01 - I bought this '95 Acura Integra GSR today. I got such a great deal! Its got 98,000 miles on it. I loved my Accord but an Integra is a dream come true. Everything about this car is for performance. I plan to make this car much better in every way. Everything on this car will be the best and only the best. The suspension will be Apexi coil-overs with upper pillow mounts. Also I have Energy Suspension full bushing kit.

2/19/01 - Today I went to the shop(AUTO TECH) and gave the GSR a full tune up. We replaced the timing belt, cam seals, crank seals, water pump, tensioner, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, distributor, and rotor. I ordered all the parts from a discount Honda Dealership. They cost about $375.00 for all the parts. When I ordered them I also ordered factory spark plugs but I will install them when I get the spark plug wires. The plug wires will be Nology Hotwires.

3/2//01 - I was on my way home and I see smoke coming from under the hood. When I looked under the hood I see a little smoke coming from the radiator area. The real clue was the sweet smell that the smoke had. Then I knew it was the radiator. I had to make it home so I turned the heater on full heat and full blower. This took enough heat off the engine and enough pressure off the radiator to temporaraly stop the leak.

3/5/01 - I went back to the shop and removed the fans and radiator. After sending the radiator off they called and said I would have to buy a new one. Just my luck. I replaced the radiator, thermostat, upper and lower hoses.

3/6/01 - I ordered the Apexi N1 damper coil overs. I cant wait to get these and install them. I am going to have to wait a while because money is tight.

6/24/01 - I just got the chance to check in and keep you updated. I had the Apexi coilovers installed a while back. These are incredible, and worth every penny. On 6/17/01 I started having clutch problems and then the clutch just seized up. I had it towed to Nathaniels where it will be receiving a new flywheel and clutch. Check out their web site.

12/8/01 - The SCCA had an event for the winners of the SCCA drawing at the Texaco Grand Prix. There were three winners who got a chance to drive an SCCA race car. One of the race cars my boss owns. It is a Spec class Miata. The track is in Hitchcock Texas called Grand Sport Speedway. This is a very simple track, great for begginers. My boss is a SCCA instructer and I got him to ride with me and help me tune some racing skills since this was my first time to drive on a race track. Then I got to drive the Spec Miata. It is much different driving a rear wheel drive car. Especially when its wet.

12/9/01 - I went to my first Autocross event today. This is also known as Solo 2. It was regional #12 at Gulf Greyhound Park. Check out the SCCA website for more information. This was so much fun!! It was very challenging. Autocrossing is not very fast but is very demanding on the driver and the car. Autocrossing is mostly about the driver though. Hopefully I will be able to go the next event in Jan.

12/18/01 - I added the Autocrossing page to the website. This site will contain info on all the autocrossing events that I attend and Solo II information.

1/6/02 - Happy New Year! Today was another Autocross event, regional # 1. Go to my Autocrossing page to read about it.

2/03/02 - I took first place in my class. This was regional event # 2. To see the times, maps, and other autocrossing information go to my Autocrossing page.

I now have a racing sponsor, Nathaniel's Auto Performance & Custom Shop.

3/15/02 - I was able to run four 20 min sessions at Texas World Speedway. What an amazing experience!

6/01/02 - 6/02/02 - I did The Drivers Edge event at Texas World Speeway. The first day there were four 20 minute sessions. The second day I only did the frist two sessions because at the end of the second session my front brakes were sqealing so bad. I took the front wheel off to see the inside of the front left rotor being eaten away by the crappy Axxis Metal Master pads. I made it home okay. Ordered Power Slot rotors and EBC green pads for the front. Changing only the fronts to EBC pads will result in too much front brake bias. So I ordered Power Slot and EBC GreenStuff for the rear. The difference in stopping power has literally almost doubled. These pads bite very well and have a consistant grip. The bias front/rear feels much better now.

8/15/02 - Ordered my Falken Azenis tires from Vulcan Tire.com. 205/50-15 size. This should hopefully help my competitiveness in the street tire class. I have not been doing well in the National Tour and the Divisional this year. Almost everyone else is running the Azenis tire.

10/1/02 - Thought I would try to quickly update the site. I am now running 450f/615r springs on the Apexi damper coilovers. I have yet to Autox on this setup though. Should be very nice! It feels balanced with some oversteer.

11/16/02 - I updated the Autocross page with the latest events.

12-22-02 - So the 2002 season is finally over. It seems like this year has taken a long time to come to an end, but it also seems like it has flown by. I was able to pull off the 2002 Street Touring Championship this year in the Houston region SCCA Solo2. Next year I think I am moving to STU which is the equivalent of the national STX class. I will still compete in the STS nationally, I just need more competition in the regional events.

I think it was Friday night on 11-29-02 that my car just died when I was approaching a stop sign in second gear. I was accelerating and the engine just lost power and died. Got it towed back to the house. I knew that it had to be one of two things: ignition or fuel. I talked about it more with my friend Brian and we both agreed that the way the car died it was more likely to be spark. So Saturday morning I got up early and started working on it. I checked for spark and nothing. Next was to check the coil. Sure enough the coil was shot. So I started looking to get parts and decided to go ahead and do a tune-up at the same time since it had been 30K from the last tune-up. I installed new NGK platinum plugs, OEM ignition coil, distributor cap, and rotor.

Then when i took it for a test drive the car was misfiring pretty bad. Culprit: the Nology Plug wires were arching. This is probably what blew the ignition coil out in the first place. The coil was old and going to die soon, but the extra resistance from bad plug wires didn't help. Now I have custom plug wires made by Nathaniels.

1/18/03 - F150 hit the car at a ninety degree angle in the very front of the car. The car is totaled but I bought it back from the insurance company and I am selling all parts of the vehicle. Please email if you need any parts for a Integra! Selling everything! Thanks.
