This is at Grand Sport Speedway. It was a very wet day which made for a wonderful day to learn the fundamentals of car control. -- 12/08/01

----------Here are pictures of my Integra----------

12/09/01 - My first autocross was a success. I had fun, did not hit a cone, and did not come in last!
My setup was as follows:
Front - 40lbs
Rear - 40lbs
This seemed to keep the tires from rolling too much. I dont know what the exact setting are for the Apex dampers. I will have to check. This will be a fairly good adjustment tool for me as well as the tire pressure.

Here are the results of the entire event:

I am listed as 616/STD Eric Sutton, 95 Integra. I ran in the Street Touring D Class.

1/06/02 - My second Autocross event was great. All the events this year will at Gulf Greyhound Park. My number today was 657. Looks like I might have a sponsor soon.

I am listed as 657/STD Eric Sutton, 95 Integra. I ran in the Street Touring D Class.

2/03/02 - This track was harder than it looked. In some places it was tighter than you thought it was going to be. I was not happy with any of the three runs I got to do. Never the less I got FIRST PLACE in my class. I could not believe it! There were not as many people in my class running today, which might account for me taking the first place trophy home. There were a couple of guys there who have always beat me in the past, and I beat them this time. The guy who drives the '90 Integra was out there, he always gets first place. Even though my class was small, I still feel it was a valid win. This is because some of the best competition did show up.

Thanks to my new sponsors, Nathaniels Auto Performance & Custom Shop. See the new racing numbers. I will be using these at all my racing events.

The car felt good, still needs some tweaking. Now I am going to start messing with shocks and more with the tires.

I am listed as 77/STD Eric Sutton, 95 Integra. I ran in the Street Touring D Class.

5/02/02 - I took first place in my class again. I need to beet these guys by seconds though, not tenths. I still need tons of improvement. Seat time will help in this area. My pax times are still low.

7/06/02 -I am extremely disappointed with second place. The car was pushing more than ever. It wasnt until the last run that the car felt somewhat balanced. I think the front tires are cooked from the event I did at Texas World Speedway on 6/01/02 and 6/02/02.I think the one reason the last run was so much better was changing the driving style. My PAX time was much improved though. This might be a good sign.

9/01/02 - Finally running on Azenis. Was able to pull off first place in STD with a 46.076. The fastest STS competitor was in STC with a 45.174. I need to beat these guys if I want to be competitve in Tours and divisionals. Moved up the highest I have been in Pax, 19 of 154. I attribute the move up in Pax to the tires!

10/13/02 - The track this month was a semi-copy of the south course from Nationals, close but not exact. This time around I had by boss, Mark Dundas, also drive the car. Mark ran number 177 and I had 77. This time the new suspension setup helped me blow the doors off all the cars running on street tires. This setup is really good!

My placement in PAX is moving up considerably. This time I place 4th out of 164. If I use the National STS class PAX index of .784 then I would place 2nd. Houston is funny that it splits everyone that runs in ST and gives them a different PAX index for each section of ST. I run in STS during the non-regional events like Nationals, Divisionals, and National Tours.

The car now lifts a rear inside tire around the corners. Call it "Pissing Dog".

11/02/02 - This event was a make-up event for April when Houston hosted the National Tour. There was not much in the way of competittion out today. The weather for this weekend was sub-par. It started raining on the last run of my run group which was the second heat. My fastest run was actually in the rain but it was a DNF.

I got first place for both days. More importantly though, my PAX placement was again very high. Today, 7th place PAX. This just backs up my theory that I was not "driving" well. STS PAX place would be 5th.

11/03/02 - We made minor changes to Saturday's track and ran it backwards. I drove much better today, probably because Brian Matteucci was close at my heals. His car is preped only to D Stock class requirements. Preped to STS rules, he probably would have beat me! He is a great driver. PAX was much better, 2nd place. STS PAX placement would be 1st!!!

12/01/02 - Well, that wraps the year up. This course was amazing! It was made for the CP cars and it totally rocked. I did get the championship for the 2002 Street Touring D class in the Houston region.
Next season I think I am going to try out the STU class which is the equivilent of the national STX class. The competition should be quite a bit tougher. Hopefully the stiff competition will help me achieve 1st PAX placement.
